From kickoff to final whistle, Walmart keeps your soccer Saturday legendary. I provided art direction for scenes that were very different from one another, but all unified by a devotion to soccer. My focus was to use story to drive my design decisions, regardless of the subject.
RETRO ANIME SOCCER
Soccer Kid's appearance was brief, but that didn't stop me from building a small backstory to motivate the character. His dad was a pro player who never made it to the World Cup, and that unfulfilled dream became Soccer Kid's own. His short, stocky frame and wild hair made opponents underestimate him — but now, at just 12 years old and playing on the World Cup stage, Soccer Kid was determined to prove them all wrong.
